Police In Middlesex County's Quick Action Helps Find Missing 5-Year-Old Boy Police in Acton reacted quickly after a 5-year-old boy with autism went missing on Thursday, Aug. 4, from his Middlesex County home. They rescued him and returned him home in less than an hour.  The boy vanished just before 4 p.m. in his house in the Crestwood Lane and Central Street area, the Acton Police Department said. Two Killed After SUV Hits Deer In New England Two people were killed on when their SUV hit a deer on a busy roadway in Massachusetts. The incident took place in Middlesex County on I-495 in Chelmsford around 4:50 a.m., Friday, June 3. When troopers arrived on the scene they discovered a 2016 Nissan Rogue driven by a 53-year-old Acton man in a stand of trees in the median, said Trooper Brandon Doherty.  The man and his passenger were determined to be dead on the scene, Doherty said. Cause Of Blaze At Firefighter's Home Determined The cause of a fire at a local firefighter's home has been determined. On Tuesday, Feb. 23, the Massachusetts Fire Marshal’s Office said that officials had discovered the cause of a Feb. 18 house fire at 26 Runaway Brook Road in Lancaster. Lancaster Fire Chief Michael Hanson said the cause was the failure of the woodstove pipe. The fire began while residents Charles Dunnigan and Leila Wendler were out at a store.
